Wings

Inspired from a dutch poem, written by G. van der Graft "Engelen"

Wij dulden ze niet langer,
want wij zijn het volk,
wij gaan zwanger
tussen het vuur en de wolk
van een nieuwe idee,
van een latere eeuw,
van een blakend bestaan.

I thought about this project on 18 june 2001 when the project "Waterkunstroute" was stolen from me by M. Jansen from AFK.

I proposed project "wings" to Mr. B. Oranje manager Rayon Center. He kindly helped me with process. But unfortunately Mr. Beem and Mr Tauber; They decide to not give me permission to go on. Later on 2002 the same persons gave permission to St. Upstream while they did something with lights.

Now project wings can realized even with more contemporary techniques with various tools, and by many of us in the same time. My mission is to put amsterdam ones more in spot for few days.

Now years have pass, I 'm sure of my idea and I think one by one the projects that I thought about most be go on and the authorities most give me permission to go on with my work.

MuiderKerk project:

Muiderkerk covered in Sunflowers.

When the building on the back burned down, in very modest way the church and KIT decided to build the Box in neo-renaissance style with green roofs (patented in green) like Kit's roof. On the roof are artworks that for sure must have philosophical meaning.

Years I passed trough Muiderkerkerk (Muider Church), years I wonderd why not anyone is doing anything for this tower with a silence history. I tried ones in 2002. But the church society members didn't like my idea despite there desperate financial need. In my mind every time passing by with Tram or bike I continue giving wings to it and then I covered it with wild Canaries and other birds, I put flowers and cover it with Cow leather. I wonder if Mr. Gustave Eiffel was alive what he would have told to Paris people about the Christmas tree that every usual night the lights goes on. I hope we can learn something about being forward on time instead of picking on others.

WINKEL VAN SINKEL

A new piece of artwork of AnnyRose in the 'Cultureel Culinair Warenhuis' in Utrecht.
Winkel van Sinkel Oudegracht 158, 3511 AZ in Utrecht.

Winkel van Sinkel has not been idle, the club activities, the Café, the restaurant and the Holland Festival as well as the Film Festival and the Gallery all have been added in time, it's aim being to give artists ample opportunity and freedom to expose their projects and ventilate their ideas. This is every artist's dream, since 'Winkel van Sinkel' does not impose many restrictions and encourages artists to express themselves freely. The 'Shopping Palace' has been built in 1837 and has been designed by the architect Pieter Adams (1778-1846). It is built in Neo-Classic style, with caryatides on the front (female figures in the shape of 'supporting pillars' to 'carry' the weight of the building). To help lift their weight, AnnyRose will come in. She is an artist as well as a stylist, and has been doing projects and interiors decorations (such as the last one in the 'Tropen Museum' for the exhibition 'Armenians in the Netherlands') as well as paintings and ceramics. Her idea is to express gratitude toward these women, and to give them something: she will clothe the caryatides with Greek style dresses, and give them wings to cherish them for carrying the weight of this monumental building for such a long time. She said: "It's not that I want to symbolize something per se, it is just a dream and it will be a kick to see the colours, it's the whole idea of adding the wings that they are so obviously asking for." On the 29th and the 30st of April, you're all welcome in Utrecht, to come and see if you like her idea and how it turned out!

Interior design. Winkel van Sinkel is always doing new things, and I was asked to come up with a few proposals for theinterior design. They change their design a few times a year, and usually hang things from the balconies and ceiling. This is my first proposal: wings!

LANGUISION

Exhibition "Langusion" in the Ethnographical Museum in Armenia. August 7th through 29th.
Film montage by: Erik Paul Video-artist Amsterdam, Holland.
Duration : 6,30 minutes
Material : DV footage on DVD+, PAL/4:3, can also be projected in wide screen mode.
Date : 1st of august 2004 4th Gyumi International Biennale of Contemporary art, Armenia. The theme of the Biennale is Communication and Text.

Langusion is a film which is embedded in an art piece called R-TEM&TEXT by AnnyRose

"Lots of words fill the sky above us where they fade away in the clouds. The clouds we say wherever on earth we are....clouds are not limited by frontiers of land and language. That is why clouds form the background in Langusion. The clouds could be land, could be water forced by the tides, but they change continuously and move in a slight way, absorbing all that is spoken." Annyrose. Langusion starts with showing portraits of well known Armenian people painted by AnnyRose. They slowly fade in and out in silence. The thinkers. Thoughts. Knowledge. Langusion emphasizes the force of language by means of TV- news flashes recorded from different countries and facial expressions of those who speak to us via television. Language as a source of Confusion (Langusio) instead of a better understanding between people is emphasized by scratching these news flashes e.g. creation rhythm as a metaphor for verbal conflicts and misunderstanding beween people with the same language. It also reflects the way news is brought to us: stoicism faces who read and tell the news which is our one direction communication with the outside world...... language...... communication..... knowledge..... scripts... Madness of penetrating text coming to us, directed, censored..........."Lise" From the madness we lift ourselves to see, to see as a form of listening......and in the end: listening to the silence.......the silence we all share.
